Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Matt Wilcox

Matt is an active member of the cyber security establishment with a unique set of skills, developed over a decade of working in the industry. His unique abilities come from a diverse range of experiences ranging from high-level cyber security strategy and architecture down to deeply technical cyber operations whilst working across government and the private sector. In 2008, Matt began his career working in the Australian Signals Directorate within the Cyber Security Operations Centre. From there, he went on to consult to senior echelons of various Australian Intelligence Community organisations. In 2014, Matt lead the development of cyber security technology and services for a ‘big-4’ consulting firm. Around the same time, Matt developed a number of cyber operations training courses, now part of FifthDomain’s suite of solutions. The company was established in 2015 and is now a leading Australian specialist cyber operations workforce development and management technology company with clients across Defence, government and higher education.

Chief Operating Officer

Nichole Franks

Having built a team of over 80 employees in just 2 years, combining specialist technologists, project staff and administrators, Nichole is well placed to help FifthDomain scale. Nichole has spent 14 years in the public sector where she most recently held the position of Cyber Security Program Manager for the Department of Human Services (DHS), securing funding for and delivering a $60m program of work. Nichole’s experience in Cyber Security is extensive, she has acted as Chief Information Security Officer at DHS and is well versed in all issues of training for cyber operators.

Amanda Francis, Chief Financial Officer

Amanda Francis

A Chartered Accountant with a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance, Amanda has significant commercial experience most recently with publicly listed global tech company, Seeing Machines. During her 2.5 years, she was actively involved in multiple share placings raising more than AUD$130m in capital. Over the same period top-line revenue more than doubled and the company grew 100% in size to more than 200 full-time employees.

Chief Technology Officer

Michael Still

Michael is an experienced engineering leader. Coming from a software and reliability engineering background at Google and Rackspace, Michael has built a series of high performing teams – these include the Google’s Cluster Turnup team, Google’s Mobile SRE team, and Rackspace’s first Australian software engineering team. Most recently, Michael has been in a variety of leadership roles within the OpenStack project, including being the lead for the Compute platform for two releases.

Chief Product Officer

Owen Pierce

With a deep understanding of the education sector, Owen’s skills are critical to FifthDomain’s growing stake in this market. Most recently, he led a range of cyber security skilling initiatives at AustCyber, including the TAFECyber Program where he convened Australian TAFEs to develop standardised training and workforce development. Owen also led CyberTaipan, a program focused on high school students, and has held senior positions at ANU and RMIT.
